Which visa should I apply for?

Post by Gompho » Mon Feb 27, 2012 10:44 pm

I am a UK citizen, my son also holds a UK passport. My fiancee is Canadian. I have been offered a job in the UK starting May 14. We plan on getting married on May 5th in Canada. I really want to bring them both over with me when I go over to start my new job.

What visa should I apply for?

From what I understand a fianceee visa is if your getting married in the UK but by the time I get to the UK we will be married.

If I apply for a marriage visa I will have to wait untill one week before we plan on leaving.

Neither of the visas I believe we can apply for once she enters the UK on a visitors visa.

What should I do? I'm really in a bind here and want to make the right decision and not delay our travel.

Thanks everyone in advance

could you bring the marriage forward and then apply for spouse visa or postpone marriage until in the UK and apply for fiancee visa ?
Or leave the marriage and your new wife can wait for visa and travel later .
