I spoke to a friend of mine, who's brother's wife applied in December.

Just for your information. Been married 4 years, but due to education, girl remained in Pakistan. So 4 years apart.

Visa Application submitted in Mirpur on December 20.
Visa Rejected February 22.

Reason for refusal, lack of proof of communication.

Fortunately my friend is quite calm about it, I suppose he knows it will get overturned when they appeal. But it's the extra 6-12 months of wait that are the headache. His brother is quite sad too.

Hey peeps, I would appreciate if anyone could help me out. My wife was previously divorced, do I have to state that on the application anywhere or provide any evidence?

Can anyone help? We have submitted the application but there are some problems at her university which mean she may have to stay a bit longer to finish her degree.
rihsabramo - When your spouse is granted visa it will for 27 months. This means they can come within the first 3 months as long as she will be here for 2 years after that.

This is what it says on the website:

"If you delayed your journey to the UK by weeks or months after the date when you were given permission to enter, that permission will expire before the end of your 2-year qualifying period. In that case, you may need to apply to extend your visa using application form FLR(M) before you can apply for settlement.
"

Hope it helps....
Thanks. That link doesn't work. So if she came after 3 months and then came for 1 month then went back for 2 months. Then came permanently, we just do an extension? Is it easy to do? And then when she's been here for 2years we apply for settlement?
Can you give me the right link? So I can read up on it.

Not necessarily as ours took 13 weeks
Same happened to some of our previous applicants on this forum. Bearing in mind they said 60 working days/12 weeks, this intended period was extended regardless of the time frame given.

We appealed from UK, we received Notice of Pending Appeal in UK but it was addressed to my hubby. I.e it was sent on my address (sponsors address) but in the name of hubby being the applicant.

They probably just called to gather more information or to clarify anything they feel uncertain about or a little thin in evidence. So don't worry it shouldn't be anything to stress over. They only call SOME people just to clarify.

its just for the last 5-6months the processing times show that 100% of the settlement cases have had decisions made with in 12weeks/60working days. i am just hoping they keep it that way and not spoil there record just for me:p

Anything upto a month. Happy waiting! :)
However, previously on this forum someone got theirs back in just one week! But on average it is a months' wait.

Good luck

Just the lawyer in UK gets this, He will then pass the info to the sponsor who in turn will inform the applicant

Can i ask a question re Bank statements... I know i should show recent but I will be in Pakistan when my Wife applys for her visa and therefore the statements i will provide are the ones i will take with me which will be 4 - 6 weeks older than the application date..

Will this cause an issue?
