how late I can apply for tier 1 extension

Hi,

My Visa is expiring on 19th of march. how much late is it safe to apply by post (special, next day delivery) ?

19th march, by royal mail only though, by courier 18th march with next day delivery

you probably dont want to cut it that close mate but UKBA website says date of posting application by Royal Mail is the date of application for visa & if by courier then the date when UKBA receives application is the date of application & as long as your application reaches UKBA if your LTR has still not expired, you are good.

I myself posted initial application a day before expiry & 3 days before expiry for extension.

I am hoping to apply on 9th/10th of March. I'm just guessing that Saturday should not matter in case of postal submission as 10th of march is saturday.
