Urgent: EC applicants from India

Post by hsmp2006 » Wed Oct 25, 2006 5:06 pm

ALL

I got my HSMP approved few weeks back, thanks to the immense help from this forum. I am planning to apply for EC by end of this week.

I am in a tricky situation now. I already have a job offer from a UK MNC. However, this offer would lapse by end of November. I was hoping to get my EC in one month's time.

But few people suggested me that it may take upto 9 weeks. I really appreciate if people, who recently got EC stamped, can respond to this query and publish the waiting time for Indian EC applicants.

Thanks a ton in Advance,
hsmp2006.

Hi,
I applied for EC on 19/10 and asked to come for the personal interview at British High Commission, Chennai.

If anybody attended the interview, can you please share your experiences. Thanks a lot in advance.

Priya

Hi ashishashah,

The best way is to call them and ask what else they want.

Hi Ashish

Your list looks exhaustive and its above and beyond what is mentioned in HSMP official guide.

Are proof-of-accommodation documents you are planning to submit originals? Especially Letter from friend was on his letter head (or) just on plain paper with his initials?
• Proof of Accomodation in UK
1) Letter from a friend in UK with whom I will be staying
2) passport copy
3) Gas bill and Bank Statement
4) Rental Agreement
Thanks,

All

Any luck with your EC yet? I applied for it today and was told that "medical checkup" is now part of EC approval process and it may take up to 15 days time to get approval. This is introduced from 1st November it seems.

Cheers,
Amjad.

There have been quite a few changes recently. There is a new HSMP policy from Dec 2006 and applications in November are no more entertained.

Anyways, if anyone has gone through this process, please reply.

Amjad.

Hi John, Ashish,

Do I need to take fresh set of salary slips for last 6 months.. say i applied in sep 2006 ( my last payslip was in aug 2006)..

so if I go for EC stamping in november or dec 2006.. should i get fresh set of slips from sep2006 to nov2006? or those submitted for HSMP ARE OK?

same is question on current employer letter .. should i get a new letter on letter head as nov/dec2006 or that i submitted for hsmp application is just fine?

proof of accomodation: if i provide proof of address, the gas bill, bank statement etc need to be of my friend's in uk?

what if i can't provide any friend' address in uk..what else can we provide to support? (say if no job offer also is in hand in uk currently?)

Look at this post http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=11418 (by hsmp2006).

Interview call - depends on the documents you submit for EC.
Medical tests - only if you intend to work in certain industry sector(s).

VFS is only for applicants in India - http://www.vfs-uk.co.in/

Don't worry. You can certainly show additional documents during interview.

Medical checkup is not mandatory for HSMP EC. Unless you are specifically asked for, you don't have to get it done.

Amjad.

No you dont require to get your medical check up done. Once BC will take the decision on your application than they may ask for medical tests (As they are doing for couple of other permits these days)... and in that case also they will get it done thru VFS... so at this stage... no check up required...
All the best... Please share your experiece after visa interview...
Thanks
Anoop
