Hi, it can take upto 2 weeks or 14 working days to get the BRP after giving finger prints!

Applicants who haven't received BRP invitation letter can call UKBA either go to return documents options or simply don't press any thing, wait for the assistant to talk to you and give him your reference number written in acknowledgement letter! they will let you know! they are helpful and cooperative!

Funny working style of UKBA. The website says that "We are currently considering applications where the applicant attended a biometric appointment on or before 14 February."
UKBA is really ridiculous

you can get a job on the basis of the acknowledgement letter as well! read the policy guidance of Tier 4 general in the section of can you work? read the last few paragraphs ,,

Remember on the basis of your pending application with Home office you can only work full time in a temporary role not on a permanent role!!!!

REGISTER WITH THE POLICE

Post by theboss580 » Sat Mar 03, 2012 11:11 am

For those who need to register with the police:

Does anybody knows if we need to change our details in our Certificate of Registration with the Police once we got the PSW Visa?

Hey,

Why don't you just check your bank account and see if hey've taken the money? The only one point that is a little worrying is if they haven't taken the application money. One of the people I know didn't have money taken from his account and his application was rejected coz they couldn't withdraw the money. But that wasn't his fault. The problem was his bank. He appealed, and I think that should've been done by now.

Hey ... Postal Orders are certain to get en-cashed. If you had selected a direct debit of pay by card option, then there are problems due to bank servers but there are no problems with Postal orders.
All you have to check is the payee name and the amount. if this is ensured your payment is done

Hey. I just called the UKBA, and they'd sent it on the 23rd of Feb. It didn't reach me though. So they'll be sending me another one now..:) You guys would get your's soon too. Or else call them and ask about your application.

Application sent : 18th Jan
Acknowledgement Letter received : 24th Jan
Biometric Letter sent (1st Attempt) : 23rd Feb

Didn't get it because the post probably lost it!

Biometric Letter (Resent) : 5th March

Should have it in the next 5 days.

Please call the UKBA and ask them about your application if you don't get your letter. Call 08706067766 and either don't press anything or press 'Request Return of Documents'. You maight have to wait around 10-12 mins before someone answers your call. It took me about 11 minutes. Just tell them you're worried and they'll ask for your reference number..:) Good luck again!

I also sent my application on 18th Jan, and I haven't received the invitation letter for the biometrics. So I did called the UKBA today (I waited for 11 minutes until they replayed). They say no letter has been sent to me yet, but it should be with me this week.

I really hope so!!! Dying of stress here.

Yes. I called the post office and gave them the serial numbers on my postal order receipts. I was told what day they were cashed and that it was cashed by the UKBA. Try these numbers: 01246 542091 or 01246 542500 at about 9:30 am when they open.

Good luck!!
