Qualification Points

Post by ajiraw » Mon Mar 05, 2012 10:53 am

Hi All,
Another confusion. Hope will get some answer.

In main applicant application form in Question H3.
following statement is written:

* An applicant cannot claim points for a Bachelor’s degree if :

a.) his/her last grant of entry clearance was as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the rules in place between 31 March 2009 and 5 April 2010, or

b)
(i) he/she has had leave to remain as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the rules in place b) between 31 March 2009 and 5 April 2010, and
(ii) his/her previous entry clearance, leave to enter or leave to remain before that leave was not as a Highly Skilled Migrant, as a Writer, Composer or Artist, as a Self-employed Lawyer, or as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant.

As I entered UK on HSMP applied on 12th Nov. 2007 then got first extension on November 2009.
Can I claim points for bachelor degree?

regards
Aji

Buddy I drink 1 Pint per day.

So that makes it roughly 250 Pints per year as I take some days off and that should make me eligible for an extension if I get 1 point per Pint.

Hi QuickSam
I drink occasionally but I think I can make at least 100 pints in one year... I have to.

Coming to the actual question, please check your posts for grammatical mistakes as this changes the context of the question completely.

The period mentioned here 31 March 2009 and 5 April 2010 was the period where people with a Bachelor degree were not allowed to apply for a Tier 1 visa. This rule was only for new Tier 1 applications.

As you've mentioned, you got an HSMP issued in 2007 and an extension in Nov 2009 then you should be getting the points for Bachelors degree.

For PBS Calculator: Where you have to enter the date of your first successful Tier 1 application, enter 29/02/2008 (this date will not be shown on PBS result that you can save as PDF) and it would allow you to claim points for you Bachelor degree.

** You can also get second opinion from the group seniors on this as my knowledge is limited when it comes to HSMP cases.

Mm, why didn't you tell us UKBA took number of pints into consideration before? Most of us would not have problems with points because we would score highly on number of "pints"...
