So my wife's application has the same status as members Henna and Mush and even Aziz I've spotted. The new "forwarded to embassy for processing", which none of us are sure of. But I take it soon enough we'll all get a ready for collection. I also hope that it's a collective response of VISA granted Insha'Allah. Ameen.

I have to so say that I am also disappointed that they don't deal with things on a first come first serve basis. There folks from December who still haven't heard anything and then there's folks who applied late January who've already got a response. It would be so much fairer on all if it was a first come first serve basis.

Anyways good luck to all.

preparing to send application and supporting docs and just wanted to be sure about this.

Can anyone confirm that they have sent just the NADRA Marriage Certificate with the Union Council stamp
as evidence of Marriage and it was accepted by the ECO. I have not had the Nikah Nama translated as the NADRA
Certificate has both urdu and english sections. I am sure I read in a post somewhere that the BHC have instructed
Gerry's to accept either the NADRA Marriage Certificate or the urdu Nikah Nama & translation as long as they have
the Union Council stamp.

Many thanks
AoA,

My position was exact same as yours back a few months ago. I done the following for the Nikkah Nama we submitted.

We were supplied with an Urdu and English version from the Imam. On the day of our Nikkah my uncle wrote/translated on both the Urdu and English Nikkah Namas ensuring both were as accurate as possible.

Therefore I did not have to pay for a translator. Please ensure that you write on the english Nikkah Nama whoever tranlsated it. I put the name, address and contact number of my uncle.

The Imam who conducts the Nikkah will have local Union Council stamps. Ensure these are stamped on both Nikkah Namas. I also got the Nikkah Nama attested by the FCO (in Lahore). If you have not done this please ensure you do.

Finally I got the Union Council Marriage Certificate, same as what you are talking about. The Imam should have registered your marriage with the Council. If the UKBA need to check this up they can simply phone the Union Council and verify the marriage.

From what you are describing you have done the same as me which inshAllah will be enough to satisfy the Nikkah Nama requirement.

I would do a final once over of the application and then submit.

Good luck and I wish you and your spouse are united swiftly inshAllah.

Allah Hafiz.

AoA fbutt09,

many thanks for your reply, so I take it you would advise that I send both NADRA Marriage Certificate and the urdu Nkah Nama with english translation (with translators details on the back) stamped by the Union Council.AND get the urdu Nkah Nama and english translation attested by the FCO in Lahore.

I thought that just the NADRA Marriage Certificate with the Union Council stamp would be enough for the ECO to grant visa.

Isuppose that's just wishful thinking, as that would have been too simple.

The Marriage Certificate is an offical document in its own right. It is a recent requirement which was brought in, you already have this. To be on the safe side get both Nikkah Namas attested by the FCO. It takes a few hours of waiting around but is inexpensive.

Submit ALL documents as part of the application. inshAllah this will be enough to satisfy the ECO.

fbutt09 can you suggest a good translation service in Lahore and then I can go to FCO to get Nikah Nama attested.

Its up to you if you want to pay for a professional translator.

No idea re translator services. Like I said before, I didnt use a translator. My uncle simply translated the Nikkah Nama and I wrote his details on the Nikkah Nama.
