Tier 1 General Dependent Visa - Delays

Post by jp3101 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:57 pm

Hi,

My wife submitted an application at end of jan and we are still waiting. I did email the caseworker team and they replied saying there are further checks being carried out and will only be able to make a decision as and when they recieve the results of those enquireis.

Any idea what these checks are all about and how long can the take in the worst case? Anyone else have submitted aroudn the same time with delays??

Thanks

Could you please let us know if this application was made in UK or from outside?

They could be verifying the main applicant's financial status, relationship etc. It could be anything, you can never be sure of this.

The only option at this point would be to check the status everyday on the VFS link and wait for a decision. I know this period can be tough but you have no other choice. At least you have the option to track your application through VFS, In country applications don't even have that.

May take from 1 to 6 weeks normally. Few cases might get delayed beyond 6 weeks but this would just not be normal.

entry clearance officers consider applications for entry clearance (visas from outside the UK)

caseworkers consider in country applications.
