many thanks for your reply, so I take it you would advise that I send both NADRA Marriage Certificate and the urdu Nkah Nama with english translation (with translators details on the back) stamped by the Union Council.AND get the urdu Nkah Nama and english translation attested by the FCO in Lahore.
I thought that just the NADRA Marriage Certificate with the Union Council stamp would be enough for the ECO to grant visa.
The Marriage Certificate is an offical document in its own right. It is a recent requirement which was brought in, you already have this. To be on the safe side get both Nikkah Namas attested by the FCO. It takes a few hours of waiting around but is inexpensive.
Submit ALL documents as part of the application. inshAllah this will be enough to satisfy the ECO.
Can i just ask the process of the nikah nama requirement as i am quite confused.
1. Should the imam who done the nikah give you an english copy of nikah nama?
2. if he didnt then who is allowed to translate the nikah nama?
3. once its translated then do you have to go back to the union council to get the translated nikah nama stamped?
4. what is FCO ?
Thanks
AOA Sakman,
I will try and help with whatever knowledge I have, since I have not sent my application yet, I hope I am right. AND As you have probably noticed this Topic has been hijacked by people who have sent their applications in and are awaiting responses, asking for / giving duas to each other and they are not interested in answering queries like yours. Allah sees all, especially selfish deeds.
After the wedding Registrar will issue the families an urdu Nikah Nama and in some areas has an English version as well, if he was requested to bring one along.
Bride and groom are issued one each, take one and get it translated in English, ensuring the Translators details are marked on the back of the translation. Then take the urdu Nikah Nama with English translation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lahore to be attested by them. Details can be found on their website.
If you go to the Union Council for your area, where your urdu Nikah Nama was registered you will be able to obtain a NADRA Marriage Certificate, get this stamped by the Union Council secretary with the round stamp showing the Union Council ward no. I have not mentioned any fees as you know this all depends on how greedy an corrupt officials are in your area in Pakistan.
I believe with
both NADRA Marriage Certificate and urdu Nikah Nama with translation attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ECO should accept this as evidence of the marriage.
I hope this helps you, and if these selfish people can break away from their conversations and read posts and see if they can help out someone, regarding something they themselves went thru, they can correct if there are any errors in my advice.
