Spouse visa for wife currently on Tier 1

Post by helpwithilr » Mon Feb 06, 2012 11:32 am

All,

Apologies if this query has been posted before. Please feel free to redirect me. Below is my case:

I have ILR now. My wife is currently on Tier 1 which expires on 1st July. We are both here in the UK.
Can she apply for a spouse visa, instead of extending her Tier1?
What are the time lines for visa approval if taking the postal route.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for this. Have been going through the details. Quick question though.

Regarding the English language qualifications, do we still need to get a letter confirming this. My wife is already on a tier 1 (her qualification was already listed on the UKBA site when she had applied for Tier1).

I cannot, however, see any where on the form I can mention this.

The problem is that there is no PBS calculator for Spouse visa where I can select the University and Course, even though I used that for the Tier 1 visa.

Sounds silly that we have to show proof for a course that was already approved during the Tier 1 application.

Just get a confiormation letter from NARIC, it will save you alot of trouble.

ok, thanks. Last question.

Is it the 'Statement of Comparability' or is it the 'English Langauge Assessment' service.

I think its the latter but I keep seeing these posts where people have got two letters from NARIC, not sure what the second one is for?

hi,

anyone submitted the NARIC certificates for FLR(M), could you please respond with which service I need to use on the website. Is it just the English language or the comparability one as well.

THanks

Hi guys,

Could someone with a successful application respond to my query please. I need to know which service I need to apply on the NARIC website for the English language requirement for the spouse visa.

Thanks

get a 'Statement of Comparability' which would confirm her degree is equivalent to a UK Bachelors degree
