VISA Status (India to UK) - Settlement (Spouse)

Morning,

Me and my wife have today submitted our VISA application, my wife is a Indian national and I am British born with a UK passport. She has submitted our VISA via the Ahmedabad, Gujarat office. We used the "Premium Service Lounge" which I would recommend to all actually if your local VFS office provides it.

This is a list of documents provided;

Sponsor’s Financial Documents
• 12 Months Bank Statements (HSBC Advance Current Account
• 12 Months worth of savings statements (HSBC) – For 3 different savings accounts, showing a total of over £8000
• Letter from HSBC confirming length of time at bank and average balance / income.
• 12 Months worth of payslips from Inside Consultancy (PAYE) (Including some old payslips and P60’s)
• 12 Months worth of payslips confirming drawings / directors loan and Bonus.
• COVER LETTER – Explaining Statements, finances and savings etc
• COVER LETTER – Explaining the savings accounts
• ICICI Statements in India (Personal account & joint Account which we opened after marriage in January 2012) Both have balances of over 200,000 (2 Lach) Rupees)
• Scheme Certificates from ICICI in India with 3 different 5-10 years fixed scheme accounts. (Two in Sponsors name and one in joint name)
• 2 Years worth of personal self assessments.

Sponsor’s Employment
• Work Contract (This is a contract between 3 partners)
• Letter from my two business partners and also internal and external accountant confirming business, salaries, taxes etc – Signed by all parties including an internal and external chartered accountant.
• Letter From main business partner (Best Friend & business partner)
• Management accounts from start of business (October 2009) till January 2012
• Company Registration & VAT Certificate
• Share Certificate & HMRC Document confirming directorship
• End of year accounts statements confirming turn over, corporation tax etc.
• Payment receipt for PAYE (personal tax), corporation tax, statements showing these transactions, and recent bank statements for my business including credit card statements
• Copy of credit and debit card confirming I am card holder

Other Documents from Sponsor
• Copy of driving licence
• Birth Certificate (Original & Copy with Notary)
• Passport (Photo Copies of all pages) certified by a solicitor & stamped.
• Utility Bill (Last years worth, 6 monthly) – Npower – In Sponsor’s name
• Documents confirming some savings plans from sponsor’s father confirming that the monies become available to Paras (Sponsor) upon completion of term next year.
• E-Tickets, boarding passes, - Confirmation of 3 trips to India
• Receipts of certain goods like gold bar, ring, mangal sutra and other jewellery gifts from main applicant.
• Sponsor ship letter from before the marriage
• Sponsor ship letter after the marriage and returning to London
• Phone bills (T-Mobiles) both Personal & Business (Proof of address and also calls made using the 3rd party companies)

Accommodation
• Over 40 photos of our home (inside & outside)
• 2011 & 20120 Mortgage Statement (Which is in parent’s sponsors name)
• Council tax Bill for 2011 including an up to date statement of payments
• Water bill in my father name
• Gas & Electricity bill in my name
• Deeds, title plans for the house
• Plans of the house stamped by the local council, (Planning application plans) / Inspection Report
• Letter from sponsor parents confirming home, and that both me and Paras (Sponsor) will be staying there, there acceptance for marriage
• COVER LETTER – Explaining accommodation written by sponsor.

Joint Documents
• Wedding invitations (both sides)
• Wedding Cards received in London for guests unable to make it to India for the wedding
• Marriage Certificate (Original)
• Photos of our wedding (100)
• Photos from our engagement (Vidhi) in March 2011 (22/03/2011) (20)
• Photos from our honeymoon (40)
• Photos of our time together in September / October 2011 (in-between Trip (10))
• Photos of other random time together after the wedding and also in March

Communications / Gifts (Joint)
• Cards which we have both sent each other (these are only some of them for special occasions, there are others which we have not included)
• Some private photos of us on our honeymoon.
• Telephone records (online print outs from Reliance, Rebtel, Pennytalk and Airtell, Itemised)
• COVER LETTER – Communications & Telephone Records (2)

• Raspberry Messenger Print outs, Email versions (Plenty of)
• Email print outs of all the flowers / cakes / sweets sponsor has sent applicant.
• Western Union money receipts / email confirmations of pick up (Total Value - £3000 over 11 months)
• Parcel receipts including customs invoices showing gifts (for both of us)
• Other email confirmations of gifts that have been bought on line in India from sponsor to applicant.

• IELTS Certificate (6 Band – 6 in Listening & 5.5 in Speaking)

• Personal written letter to aid application process
• Electricity Bill (In my granddad’s Name (Proof of address)
• Indian Post Office passbook showing a scheme in which I pay into (320 Rupees per month)
• Passbook for bank account showing recent balance and deposit for money received as wedding gifts.

The pile is huge trust me, the dedicated VFS guy said to my wife that this is really good, he also checked it all, put it in the right order and properly and checked over the form and then took it all in which si really good. The above might not be everything, I may have missed a few documents I have given but think I have noted the main ones anyway.

Also just to add on this, we done this all our self we have not used an agent, we felt we had the right documents and I filled the form out my self on line in London and submitted it. Hopefully it is all okay, only time will tell I guess.

11/03/2012 - (Sunday which is random) Stat has changed to - Visa application is under process at the British High Commission
