Has anyone applied for PR in Year 2012 - EEA4

Post by joy2006 » Thu Mar 01, 2012 2:55 pm

Hi all,

Has anyone applied for permanent Residence (EEA4) in 2012? Have you got your PR and how long did it take? Maybe this is wishful thinking from me that UKBA is back to its old ways of holding on applications....................

I've sent my 4th application on 27/Jan, and still haven't received the COA yet. I've contacted UKBA and the agent told me they're still checking if my application is valid.

I applied for EEA4 on 27 Feb 2012 through my solicitor but haven't call HO yet as it's not even a week yet.
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.
HO received on 27/02/2012.
Refusal received on 16/08/2012 dated 11/08/2012
At the court, the HO REP withdrawn the decision and asked me to send the DOC for the time before marriage.

Hi Figo10,
I guess 4th application u mean EEA4 form yeh.
What do u mean by if ur application is valid? and when did u call HO exactly.
I hope you and I and every1 else waiting will soon get COA.

By theway, when u get COA(certificate of approval) does it mean ur application is successful?
Best wishes.
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.

Spike_UK - Getting a COA does not mean that your application is successful. It means that they have received your application and are going to be looking at it. It doesnt even mean that its been assigned a caseworker in some cases. Sometimes its just an acknowledgement of receipt of application so any time they can decide to ask you for more information if they are not satisfied with the information you have given them. Hope this makes sense.

Good Luck every one.

Meanwhile am still waitng for my EEA4 PR.

Hi Spike_UK,

I know some people take it as routine not to have received a COA and just ignore the whole issue but a COA is very important because it states your status in this country while your application is under consideration. For instance, my COA states that am allowed to seek employment and that employers should accept it as proof of my eligibility to work in this country even though my PP is at the HO.

So if I were you and havent got a COA for months after submission of an application, I would ring HO coz its proof that you are not here illegally. Honestly you never know when danger calls so its best to be prepared just in case someone is demanding to see your PP and you dont have it, you can show them your COA.

Thats just me but other people may have a different opinion regarding a COA. Good Luck

Congratulations Punjab. I think it wont be long for me as well.

I Sent an email to HO requesting for an update regarding my EEA4 Application with my Itinerary showing that am travelling in April 2012. They replied the same day saying that according to their records, my documents were in their dispatch department and that they are going to urgently consider my request.

Hopefully I will be getting my PR this week or next week.

I will update you in due course with any news..

Punjab, I thought you have already received your PR? Why would you again want to contact HO?

Anyway, I used this email; LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@UKBA.gsi.gov.uk and also just attached my travel arrangements Itinerary. All I wrote was an email requesting for an update on my EEA4 Application case as I was getting anxious whether I will be able to travel in April as planned or not. I also mentioned that my ticket was non-refundable.

They replied the same day and said that according to their records, my documents where in their dispatch department and that my request has been forwarded to them for urgent consideration.

Hopefully my documents are ready for dispatch with positive news as well.

Am just praying that everything comes back in time and with PR issued.

Hi all,

Hope you are all ok. Finally, I got a post note yesterday stating that a package was delivered but wasnt at home to sign for it. So am going to the post office depot to sign for it tomorrow Saturday. I think its my PP coz its the only package I have been waiting for.

Hope its good news but will update you in due course.

Spike_UK - All i did was attach my Itinerary to the email showing the dates I was going to travel and also stated that they have had my application for 10 weeks. Actually I read something on a certain website that maximum average time EEA applications take is 10-12 weeks unless the case is very complex. So I suggest that if your application has been with them for at least 10 weeks, do not hesitate to email them asking for an update coz I think some cases are sorted out early and just sit in dispatch dept and without triggering them, they will sit in that dept for ages.

Good luck anyway.

Hello every one.
I need some help in EEA4 application.Me and my wife will be completing 5 years of working and living in UK april 2013.We will be applying for PR then.We have all the documents confirming that we are living and working in UK.But when I applied for EEA2 home office lost all the worker registration certificates and worker registration card of my wife.So We can not provide those documents.I send an e-mail to Liverpool cutomer serivce regarding this situation. They wrote me that my wife have to supply covering letter that her documents are lost by home office.Any one been in this situation before.I am afraid that they will not accept my application or they will refuse to give me PR.Any advice will be much appreciated.Thank you

Good Luck Cutepearl. I understand how frustrating waiting is especially when you have pending travel arrangements. Hope they respond with positive results which I really hope it will be but whether your pp is returned in time for you to travel is a different matter.

Be positive and good luck.
