Hi ,

I extended my visa in Nov -11 at Cardiff.

I had appointment @ 8.30 AM. Reached there by 8.15 and they let me in @ 8.30.

After the security check, my documents was checked by a staff(not the CW) and directed me to Biometric.

Once the Biometric was done, I was told to wait and they let me go out if I wish. I opt to go out and got a call from CW after 1 hour.

When I went in , I was called(by seeing my photo) by CW and told that application been approved and I will receive my B Card in 7 days.

Totally it took 2 hours for the entire process.

PS : My application is straight forward and no dependants.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Abdul Rahim

Hello Abdul Rahim,
How long did it really take you to get the biometric card back? Did it take 7 days?

Thanks.

Question about Passport

Post by jinfenggoh » Mon Mar 05, 2012 10:03 am

Hi Abusidd,

I have heard that you get your passport back on the very same day of the appointment. However, I have not found any information whether they cancel the vignette in your passport so that you are not allowed to travel before the biometric card is given to you. Will you be able to confirm this to me please?

Thanks!

Hi ,

Yes, you will get back your passport the same day. Once they accept your extension application your current validity will be expired. so you can't travel until you get your B card.

Thanks

Again, PEO application doesn't guarantee same day decision. You may get the passport back the same day if UKBA feels that your case is straight fwd and they don't need any further checks.

In case the decision is withheld waiting on further checks, you won't get the passport back the same day.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Abdul Rahim, Hi QuickSam,

Thanks for the explanation. Yes, I was hoping that I will get my passport back on the same day, allowing me to travel on my old visa until the new one starts. I am seriously going to have to rethink this applying business as I might need to travel soon after my application.

Arggh... this is really frustrating but I will just have to tell my employer the bad news. Sometimes you wonder what the £300 is for, but well...

Once again, you guys have been really helpful!
