Major change in the new SET (O) form as of 29 Feb '12

Post by jack902 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 4:13 pm

Has anyone noticed that the new SET (O) form no longer requests details of all trips outside the UK

The new form merely asks in Section 9 D.1"Please confirm whether you have been outside of the UK for any single absence over 3 months or one or more absences which amount to more than 6 month in total during the 5 year period?

Does this mean a spreadsheet of absences is no longer required??

If your total absences in 5 years are more than 180 days or one of your single trips is longer than 90 days, then I would advise providing spreadsheet to home office (as the law is still there and has not been changed in any respect).

If you don’t fall under the above, then you don’t need a spreadsheet as you don’t need to explain anything. Total absences less than 180 days and single trip less than 90 days are just normal.

Have you referred to Page 10 of 'Version 02/2012' ? It is under Section 6 - Immigration history

Section 6.2 states:
Since then have you had any absences from the UK? If yes, give the dates you left
and returned to the UK and the reason for the absence in the spaces below. List all
absences however short and in date order. If you need more space, continue on a
separate sheet and enclose it with your application.

(I guess you have to mention details here)
