Where to Certify Passport in London

Dear All,

I am due to submit application for my spouse in India in fortnight and i am about to courier the required documents.

I have query regarding certifying my UK Passport and would be glad if members help me with this.

I have contacted few Notary offices in London and they are quoting 65£ fees and additional 80£ for saturday service, as due to my work i will be able to get it certified only on saturday.

I would be much obliged if any members know of any notaries who will charge reasonable fees or is it possible for me to get it notarised in India itself.

If you only need the ID page - the post office do it reasonably and this was accepted for my mother in law's visitor visa.

If it's every page ... not them.

Post Office is not authorized to certify passport unless the person sitting at counter is qualified solicitor

Any solicitor will do it for approx £5 per page.

God it must be expensive in London, you can get every page in passport done for £10 up in Yorkshire

Haha! Yes Batley London is indeed expensive. I think I will be returning to Birmingham for that!!

I got my bio page copied page certified that it was a true copy of the original, stamped off for £7 and it was accepted.

Was accepted for the 2 passports we submitted for family visit visas.

I think its better to go for certifying with Solicitor. I was in similar dilemma and found out that Post Office was charging 7.50£ and its not sure if its accepted by Home Office.

I enquired from solicitors and they charge around 8£ and i went to someone at Southall and East ham and he charged me 12£ for certifying UK passport BIO page and also other pages with visa stamping for India.

If you want i can give you contact number and website for solicitor which i used
