query for tier 1 extension

i have my tier 1 extension due in June ( 2+3)
Im worried what if I lose my job next month.. and cannot get one new soon and visa month come nearer . could it hamper my visa extension ?
Earnings eligibility is ok ( consecutive 12 from last- 15 months) but i cannot apply now becoz maintanance is 3 months will get over in May end.

applicant has to be economically active - during the time of application - what does it mean and shall i be in any danger should i lose this job - from economically active perpective.

There is no such clause that states that you need to be employed when you apply for an extension.
