Husband holiday home before spouse visa expires

Post by STLewis » Wed Mar 14, 2012 12:05 pm

Morning everyone,

Just a quick query!

My husband's is currently on a 27 month spousal visa, which expires on 17th August this year. We are applying for ILR beforehand.

However, he has just booked a holiday home to Cairo on 17th June until 5th July to visit his family, having not seen them since he came here in May 2010.

His passport is valid for a few more years yet, but it occured to me surely it is ok for him to travel to Egypt on these dates as they are approx 6 weeks before his current visa expires.

I suppose my questions is "Does your visa need a certain time limit remaining on before you can use it to return?"

Im sure Im just worrying about nothing, but it just occured to me.

Many thanks

Should be okay. If his visa hasn't expired, then it's still valid. Refusal is subject to 321A.
