Waiting for Biometric Letter

Hello,

Applied for Tier 2 General Visa.......on the 21st of Feb, And I am still waiting for Biometrics Letter...This is the 3rd Week and I wonder what is happening
?

How long Do I have to wait ...Please advise???

Based on the timelines I've seen posted here and in my personal experience. the BRP permission letter will be dated between 2-3 weeks after the Application Acknowledgement letter date. I received each letter about 3-4 days after the date of each letter.

Ya I applied on 10th Feb. and today am told by HO that letter is posted on Friday the 9th March. May be will receive tomorrow or day after. Be patient, it will come one day

for sure a slow service after deducting 550 pounds.

I applied on 18th Jan and received biometric invite on 10th Feb - Approx - 3 weeks and 4 days for me...

What is HO ? is it home office do they give update about the biometric letter being posted to us through phone ?

Hi,

Ya it is Home Office (HO). They provide update re: biometric letter after 4 weeks of initial application date. Number is 0870 606 7766 option 4 and then 1. Normally there is a wait of 15 minutes.
I got mine on the 14th March and posting date was 9th of March.

Thank you doc.. they did answer the call today 20/3/012..after 20 mins and they asked me to wait till next monday 27/03/3012 which wil make 4 weeks since the money has been taken from the account .. and it seems there is back log in the processing to issue biometric letters. cheers..

I got my biometric letter in 22 days.. So wait! and remember u need to wait another 4-5 weeks to get ur passport back.

Yes, I have posted my application on the 5th and it was received at HO on the 6th March. I have not received any notification or any letter from HO yet.

Ya, no need to worry, its only our patience that HO is checking. Everything will work out well in the end hopefully but after a long wait. Cheers.

Hi pespes,

I applied for Tier 2 General Visa (extension) same date as yours and have been waiting for a biometric letter since. I phoned the UKBA yesterday (22nd March), and was told that it usually takes 28 working days before the application comes out in the system. I told them that it has been more than a month since I applied for my visa. The lady then took some of my details and found out that my biometric letter has been posted 21st March, which means I should receive my letter anytime soon.

To date, I haven't gotten my letter yet, but at least I know it's on its way. I hope things go well with you.

I have applied independent visa for my baby (Tier 2 General Visa) and sent on 12th March 2012 .But, until today which more than 3 weeks that I haven't receive any letter from home office yet. This week is the 4th week, I hope the acknowledgement letter and/or biometric letter will arrive.
I wonder in your case that, before you made a phone call to UKBA , is the payment gone through? When you make the call, what is the option you choose? Is it option 4 and 2?

0870 606 7766 Its option 4 and then 1 for biometric information. They will not provide you any update before 4 weeks are passed. Secondly I am not sure but I think your baby will not need to have biometric as she is too young for that. Photo provided will be enough. But ya you can confirm this by calling UKBA option 4 and then 1.

Don't worry your baby will get one. UKBA is pretty slow in granting visa atthe moment because of heavy work load. All the best.

Hi,
I posted application on 7th March, I received biometric notification email on 28th March, giving me 15 working days to enrol but I need letter to do so. Unfortunately the letter has still not arrived, postman just came.
What shall I do?

It should be 15 working days .. so you can exclude weekend and 2 bank holidays..

You said postman just came, Does it mean you got letter now ??

Thanks, postman's coming was referring to the fact that no biometric letter was included.
Yeah, I know and do exclude those days yet I have only 7 working days left.

I submitted my tier 1 extension application on 4th April and royal mail confirmed delivery. But the money has NOT been deducted and I haven't received a confirmation letter or bio metric letter. Even the bank has said HO has made no attempt to get the payment. The HO helpline people are not being very helpful asking me to wait but I am getting worried...

Do you know what can I do.

i applied on 7 mar set m and did received acknowledgement letter but no brp letter up till now. i called on 0870 number and woman told me your application is not in system . u will get brp invitation letter when your application will be in system. what does it mean? how long it takes for an application to get in system? can any one plz help.

Hi,when i phoned they told that you will recive biometric letter after 4 weeks of your payment deduction...so she asked me to check about my payment....as it was paid by my representative....
