Applied for ILR SET(m)
Document send 27th Jan 2012
Document recieved by HO 31st Jan 2012
Ack letter recieved 6th Feb 2012
Payment gone through 7th Feb 2012

Still waiting....

Also, I was lead to believe that my wife's application would still be required us to attend an interview as part of the final assessment for her application. Is this true?

Hi,

My wife was to apply for her ILR SET O and seeing my experience we decided for her to go for Premium Service in Croydon. We went last week on Tuesday and it took 3 hours (I should add here - extremely stressful 3 hours) for her application to be approved. The Biometric Residence Permit was promised to be sent in 7 working days, but actually arrived on Thursday – in 1.5 days only! :D

While waiting at Croydon Lunar House we observed that actually the Border Agency staff were working really hard – I would say non-stop. I noticed that there were about 300 people seen on the day – judging by numbers that were announced (we were ones of the last). Every application needed to be registered, then money taken, then preliminary check of documents, then fingerprints and a photo taken, then the interview itself and finally the interview to announce their decision. I would not say that it was 30 minutes time slot to decide for a single application. And if there are thousands and thousands of people applying for their visas then there is no surprise that it takes so long.

Regarding my application: I am still waiting for my visa – it is more than 20 weeks now… It has been the most stressful period of my life so far, but now I am somewhat relieved that at least my wife’s case has already been decided.

PS. The postman has just delivered Monday mail, but there is nothing for me again this time :(.

My friend got his ILR today with same day service and he got biometric residence card instead of a sticker on the passport. Apparently people who apply after 1st of april will get biometric residence card not sticker visa.

Actually they started to give Biometric Residence Permit to people who apply for their visa on or after 1st March 2012. And a person would need to come to a Home Office for his/her biometrics to be taken regardless whether application is submitted by post or in person.

Those who applied before 29th February still get a vignette in their passports.

As most of us here on this site applied some time before we will get a sticker.

Strange how the issue date and passport arrival time (even with next day signed for delivery) is taking 10 days.

Are they sitting on these for ten days or 'massaging' the figures I wonder
