1. tire 1 closed last year april 2011 and i got my visa on may 2011

2 . govt tighting the rulls for setling in uk?

3. is new rulls will effect who are in tire 1 genaral (i got mine may 2011)?

3. i will finish my 5yrs in may 2016 is those rulls effect me to get Perminet resident after 5yrs ?

4. some body told me if you got visa after april 2011 tire 1 or if you apply for settlement after april 2016 those people will have to show every year 35k to get Perminet resident is it truee?
plese help i am so confused

Hello there,

My understanding is that it does not matter when you received your visa but when the application was made. For example, if you made an application in March 2011 and received your visa post April 2011, your subsequent application/extension will be treated under the rules that was applicable during March 2011.

The category that you are part of is no longer available hence you can only extend your visa moving forward. Given that changes in rules will have little or no impact on your future application under your current category.

Upcoming rules will impact the Tier 2 visa holder largely. I believe 35K limit will be applied to people planning to settle down in the UK that are under Tier 2, post April 2012.

Also, with regard to the permanent residency, no one knows how this will be changed as 10 Years rule can change any time which I understand there is not any plan or circulation yet available.

But if you do find any, please let everyone know.
