Cover letter for tier 1 extension

Post by Ashytos » Wed Nov 23, 2011 11:07 am

Hello,

I am due for extension in few weeks time. Can anyone please share a format for writing the cover letter for the extension for main applicant, my husband and 2 kids. I have all the requirements scoring 80+10+10.

Many thanks

Is it necessary to provide a covering letter?
I never provided any when I was a student or even on my Tier1 application and never had any issue with that either.

However I am due to extend my Tier1 visa in two weeks and recently I came across about the idea of covering letter.

Please let me know, how important is that.

Normally its a good practice to include cover letter when you are applying by post and if you are applying personally sometime CW may or may not ask for cover letter.

if your case is straightforward and not complicated than I think there is no need of any cover letter.if your case is bit complicated and you think case worker get confused than you should explain all this in your cover letter. I have applied for tier1 extension with employed and self employed earnings and didn't send any cover letter.

Cover letter is not a mandatory document but essential for your application, if you are applying by post.

I hope that makes sense.
