Tier 1 Dependent visa - visa4Uk form questions and confusion

Post by stalwar » Tue Feb 14, 2012 4:23 pm

Hi,
I applied for and successfully received my Tier 1 visa on 4th Jan, 2011 valid till 4th Jan, 2013.
Due to some personal reasons, I was not able to go to UK till now.
However, I have now received a job offer from a UK company starting 1st April.
I am now planning to apply for a Tier 1 dependent visa.

I have few confusions regarding the visa4uk online form and would appreciate if somebody could help me

Section 6: Main Applicant Employment Details
When is the job expected to finish?
I have mentioned the last day of my visa i.e 4th Jan, 2013. Is this correct?

Section 6: Employment and Finances
Section 6 till now was all about Main Applicant.
However, it is not clear if they are asking the employment status of me or my wife. I have assumed its about my wife.
Please correct me If I am wrong

Your total monthly income from all sources of work or employment after tax ?
The help on this question asks for full, current and independent verifiable documentary evidence.
Does this mean I need to show bank statements + salary slips for the last 6 months of my wife?

How much of your monthly income is used to support your family members?
I have mentioned INR 0.

You stated that you have savings‚ property or income
I mentioned LIC and Mutual Funds. Is proof required?

Section 7 - Additional Information
Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependents

Again, are they asking money available from my wife's account. I am confused since she is applying as a dependent and yet they are asking for the number of dependents.

In addition to this, my wife also has an offer to work in the UK. Should I mention that in the covering letter.

I would really appreciate for all the help.

Sorry, but can you please share are you applying within UK or outside of UK? I have not seen such question in any Within UK applications?

Thanks,

This is out of country application.

The wording of the application form leaves a lot to be desired and the lack of guidelines adds to the general confusion.

Eagerly waiting for more clrification from someone who's been there and done that...

Thanks,
V

My apologies but I am not experienced in out of country application. I will look at it some point tomorrow and shed some light, if I can make some sense out of it all.

Meanwhile, sit tight and wait for others to reply.

Re: Tier 1 Dependent visa - visa4Uk form questions and confu

Hi all,
My wife's dependent visa came through successfully. I have updated the answers I provided in the quoted text below.

Section 6: Main Applicant Employment Details

I filled the last day of my visa.
Section 6: Employment and Finances
Section 6 till now was all about Main Applicant.
However, it is not clear if they are asking the employment status of me or my wife. I have assumed its about my wife.
Please correct me If I am wrong
I filled it assuming the status was regarding my wife

Your total monthly income from all sources of work or employment after tax ?
The help on this question asks for full, current and independent verifiable documentary evidence.
Does this mean I need to show bank statements + salary slips for the last 6 months of my wife?

I could not find what evidence was required. Therefore, I submitted two independent sources of income i.e. bank statements + salary slips
How much of your monthly income is used to support your family members?
I have mentioned INR 0.

You stated that you have savings‚ property or income
I mentioned LIC and Mutual Funds. Is proof required?
I submitted original policy document as proof
Section 7 - Additional Information
Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependents

Again, are they asking money available from my wife's account. I am confused since she is applying as a dependent and yet they are asking for the number of dependents.
Mentioned the number of dependents as 0 and gave proof of my wife's bank account
In addition to this, my wife also has an offer to work in the UK. Should I mention that in the covering letter.

I would really appreciate for all the help.
In my experience I gave proofs wherever I could but made sure to mention everything in the covering letter. Please get in touch if you need more info.

Re: Tier 1 Dependent visa - visa4Uk form questions and confu

Post by Tier1G09 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:11 am

I recently applied the dependant visa of my wife from delhi VFS and I have answered the following. I applied on 16th Feb and she got her visa on 24th Feb.

Section 6: Main Applicant Employment Details
When is the job expected to finish?
I have mentioned the last day of my visa i.e 4th Jan, 2013. Is this correct?

Me too mentioned the last day of the visa.

Section 6: Employment and Finances
Section 6 till now was all about Main Applicant.
However, it is not clear if they are asking the employment status of me or my wife. I have assumed its about my wife.
Please correct me If I am wrong

Yes its for your wife and i entered unemployed as she was not working at that moment.

Your total monthly income from all sources of work or employment after tax ?
The help on this question asks for full, current and independent verifiable documentary evidence.
Does this mean I need to show bank statements + salary slips for the last 6 months of my wife?

As she was not working so I wrote NOT APPLICABLE

How much of your monthly income is used to support your family members?
I have mentioned INR 0.

I wrote NOT APPLICABLE

You stated that you have savings‚ property or income
I mentioned LIC and Mutual Funds. Is proof required?

I never stated any savings for her as I am the sponsor and will look after her expenses.

Section 7 - Additional Information
Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependents

My wife clearly mentioned that as she is the only one who is applying for her visa so there are no more dependants. Also write the amount of money in your UK bank account if you are sponsoring her.

In addition to this, my wife also has an offer to work in the UK. Should I mention that in the covering letter.

I believe there is no need of mentioning this bit otherwise they will think that your wife is coming to work there not to live with you.

I would really appreciate for all the help.[/quote]
