How far in advance should I apply?

Hi, all -

I'd like to move to Canada in 2009 and wondered if I should just go ahead and apply now. Any thoughts?

Also, I had cancer two years ago but am currently disease-free. Does anybody know if CIC is likely to turn me down based on that? I'd hate to start the process and pay the fees only to find out I'm not eligible.

If you are "disease-free" now, then there is no reason to worry, right?
