Hi is there anybody who applied after 1st of March 2012 ?

hi mustang390, i applied on 10 march. when did u applied did u received any acknowledgement letter? i have no idea what will be the time line after 1 march. hopefully things will be fine.

Hi lupilu I sent Application on 19/March/12 and they received it on 20/March/12 and waiting for acknowledgement letter.
Have they taken the fee from your account yet ?

Expedite email sent to "SettlementOps" email id on Mar 11, 2012. Next day response that my email had been forwarded to the operations team but that they couldn't give me a status update.
Called Home Office on 0870 number Mar 21, 2012. They can't see status as it hasn't been 6 months yet (6 calendar months is what they go by so only applications before 21 Sept as of today). Have given me fax number to try.

Tickets booked for travel on Mar 31st which were re-booked after trip in December 2011 had to be cancelled. Cancellation charges are making these tickets very expensive so I would hate to have to cancel again. Hope we have some luck this week.[/quote]

sorry to hear that your efforts to speed up the case haven't brought any results yet. I feel really angry that it takes them so long to decide and that they don't provide any info about the progress whatsoever. It also looks like the set (O) JR is the least favourable group, as the average wait is so long. Fuming!

A bit of update on my case
choosing between contacting myself the UK BA regarding my case or going though MP route, I've chosen the second option. I contacted my MP by email and post and asked to find out the situation regarding my case and expedite if possible on compassionate grounds. 2 weeks later I emailed again the MP but he said he hasn't yet received reply to his letter sent to the BA
I sent him another email today, emphasising that it's a bit odd that the BA hasn't even acknowledged his letter and kindly asked him to give them a call, in case they haven't indeed received his letter.
One hour later he emailed me the following:
"My letter was indeed received by the Border Agency. I understand that a decision is about to be conveyed to you."

I may sound silly, but the fact that he says the decision is about to be conveyed to me, rather then telling me that the visa has been issued, makes me wonder if I'm waiting for the bad news
It may well be possible that the BA hasn't decided yet on my case, or that the MP doesn't want to sound that his has any influence on the outcome of the case... Anyway.. for some reason the wording made me worried a bit

Just out of interest, a question to those who went through MP route. When your MP contacted you and updated you on their conversation with the BA, did they actually mentioned the outcome as well?

Finally finally! Got my wife's passport today!

Well well well, where do i start from.

The whole 3 months has been a roller-coaster for us!

Picked up passport today from UK Border Agency Liverpool office. 21st March 2012

Nearly 14 long dreaded weeks!

A brief scenario of my case:

Contacted my solicitor on 17th January 2012 for possible expedite the case. Reason we used was my wife's sister getting married end of March. We requested wedding cards from Pakistan as an evidence that literally took a day to make and sent to us. On 19th January solicitor sent expedite to the home office. 23rd January solicitor received acknowledgement that we have received your expedite and will now update your case. As we already booked tickets on 14th Feb but had to cancel the tickets. Then waited till 5th of March but heard nothing from HO.

Then the most sad news ever my nan suddenly suffered from a brain stroke and heart attack My wife's aunties say past two months my nan use to ask if the passport was here or not as she was missing my wife a lot and constantly she thought abt this. We then contacted my cousin he is a councillor of our area and is in very good friends with our local MP. He was kind enough to help us, after sending him the details on 6th March he sent fax to HO and rung them too. My nan was admitted in ISLAMABAD hospital and the drs said we cannot do no more. We then requested a medical report from the hospital and that was forwarded to the mp. 2 Weeks on monday we found out she passed away it was a complete shock and things are never the same again. We rung MP straight away on Monday and today we got a reply saying we could pick it up from the liverpool office. It was a relief. My case was very straight forward we dont claim any benefits we got no children. I work and she stays at home and chills LOLOLOL.


Just want to say thank you to everyone, the board members and those that updated the list regulary. Without you guys it would have been even more difficult. The wait is horrible. I suggest book an appointment with HO and apply personally avoid the horrible waiting times!

Thank you once again and never give up hope it will definitly come one day.

Then the most sad news ever my nan suddenly suffered from a brain stroke and heart attack My wife's aunties say past two months my nan use to ask if the passport was here or not as she was missing my wife a lot and constantly she thought abt this. We then contacted my cousin he is a councillor of our area and is in very good friends with our local MP. He was kind enough to help us, after sending him the details on 6th March he sent fax to HO and rung them too. My nan was admitted in ISLAMABAD hospital and the drs said we cannot do no more. We then requested a medical report from the hospital and that was forwarded to the mp. 2 Weeks on monday we found out she passed away it was a complete shock and things are never the same again. We rung MP straight away on Monday and today we got a reply saying we could pick it up from the liverpool office. It was a relief. My case was very straight forward we dont claim any benefits we got no children. I work and she stays at home and chills LOLOLOL.


Just want to say thank you to everyone, the board members and those that updated the list regulary. Without you guys it would have been even more difficult. The wait is horrible. I suggest book an appointment with HO and apply personally avoid the horrible waiting times!

Thank you once again and never give up hope it will definitly come one day.

Well well well, where do i start from.

The whole 3 months has been a roller-coaster for us!

Acknowledge received on 15th December 2011

Picked up passport today from UK Border Agency Liverpool office. 21st March 2012

Nearly 14 long dreaded weeks!

A brief scenario of my case:

Contacted my solicitor on 17th January 2012 for possible expedite the case. Reason we used was my wife's sister getting married end of March. We requested wedding cards from Pakistan as an evidence that literally took a day to make and sent to us. On 19th January solicitor sent expedite to the home office. 23rd January solicitor received acknowledgement that we have received your expedite and will now update your case. . Yes, that's true. Work permit was issued for 26k but I was only getting 21k due to unpaid leave every month. But I had all documents required for ilr. Just pray and hopefully u will get yours.

Yes, even if you previously provided biometrics for getting extension you would need to come and provide them again – if you applying for ILR after 1st of March 2012. [/quote]

I applied under Set (O) WP + Tier 1
I'd think so it is straightforward....All points scored in terms of earnings, Age, English, Work Experience.
No gap in Visas
Not been out of country for more than 90 days in a single trip and not above 180 days over all.

I have no idea how cases are getting picked up.
