Difference B/W FPN and Penalty Charge Notice

Hi ,applying ilr on tuesday, just wondering what is the difference b/w penalty charge notice and fixed penalty notice? i got a penalty charge notice in october 2007 for driving in bus lane. i did paid it intime although it was not me who was driving the car. actually i was not even in uk, i was on business visit, it was my dad who was driving. do i have to mention it in set o forms??

To the best of my knowledge there's no difference b/w PCN and FPN. They are the same terms.

To the very best of my knowledge please do not mention this in your ILR as HO has got nothing to do with that as this is not a Criminal Conviction at all from any angle so they don't really want to know if you have a FPN or PCN. You can have an PCN issued any time even parking in the wrong place so common sense dictates that, its not a criminal offense at all and the HO wanted to know if you have commited any kind of Crimnal Offense.
