Tier 1 Extension

Post by ibabdelt » Sun Mar 25, 2012 9:04 am

Hello,
I have Tier 1 (General) valid until August 6th, 2012. I went to UK for only 10 days on August 2011 and did my police registration and then came back to Dubai. I am planning to move to UK by end of June 2012 and by then I will apply for my Tier 1 extension and then stay in UK if the extension is accepted. I did not apply yet for my dependent (my wife and two children), Please help me to answer my questions below:

1. Can I still apply for Tier 1 extension although I did not move to UK earlier and did not work there? Knowing that By June 2012 my visa will still be valid and I can fulfill all the requirements:
- Previous earnings (Earned in United Arab Emirates) are between £75K and £149K =45 Points and can be proved
- Age is 39 at the first tier 1 application = 5 points
- Qualification is Bachelor Degree and my university is mentioned in the Naric DB = 30
- UK experience is not available = 0 (but I am doing my MBA from University of Leicester in UK since 2009, but did not finish yet, can I claim UK experience?)
- English Langue requirement is available = 10
- Maintenance Funds is available but not in UK (it is in a Bank in Egypt) =10
- Total Points are claimed are : 100
2. Do I need to have a permanent address in the UK and tenancy contract to apply for an extension? I am planning to stay in a rented room with an address and P.O.Box
3. Can I claim the points of the maintenance funds if I have it in a bank outside the UK?
4. in the application form of Tier 1 Extension (section B.13), they requested the UK National Insurance Number (If known), I don’t have it yet, does it affect the approval of my extension? And If I have to issue it, how long it takes to issue the UK National Insurance number?
4. I did not apply for my dependents yet, Can I apply for them later If I get the 3 years Tier1 extension for myself ? even if they are outside the UK?

appreciate your prompt answer, Thank you

1 - As long as you can meet the points requirement, you can apply for extension
2 - You do not need a accommodation contract for extension. It is not a requirement
3 - Yes
4- Leave it blank since you do not have it
5 - Yes, you can apply for your dependent anytime
