No luck for me with the above email.The response was prompt but saying this email is only for policy enquieries only and cannot provide any update on application etc!!

I contacted the settlement ops today and I got the following response. Weird.

"This mailbox is for Policy queries only and so I am unable to provide you with an update on your application.

If you would like to speak to someone about your case, you should call the Immigration Enquiry Bureau on 0870 606 7766. However, staff cannot usually provide any information about your application if you applied less than 6 months ago.

I can confirm that your expedite letter has been received and forwarded to the relevant operational team."

I think the response depends on the person who receives your email.

I sent an email to ukba in 12:40 today and received reply from the case worker within 30 mins, he said "Further to your below request, I have looked into your application and you should receive the decision made on your application in the next 10 days"

So most people in the top of JR group should get good news within 2 weeks.

Hi, I have a situation here. I have applied for ILR (SET O)and FLR for my wife in Oct-2011 same time as both of our visa's were expiring at same time. Both of us have got acknowledgement letters after a week and both have got different Home Office reference numbers, as these are two different applications. Today we received a letter on my wife's name asking to send the following:
1) Passport of your husband, showing ILR
2) Bank Statements of your husband
3) Wage slips of your husband
I am confused now, as we are still waiting for my passport with ILR? I was thinking about sending a covering letter explaining the situation that we both have applied at the same time and still waiting to receive my husband's passport with ILR.
Please suggest, what would be the best way forward?

Hi, Teluguabbayi,

I think send a cover letter to explain the situation and tell them you will send the requested documents once you got them are enough.

I knew this because last time when I applied for the extendtion of my visa, I sent my daughter's application and mine seperately (not necassary), they did not consider my daughter application until I sent my passport to them because my daughter visa is based on my status in uk, your wife situation is similar. Please remember when you send your passort (after you have it) and other documents you must write your wife ref num. Hope it helps. Good luck!

This forum has been helpful, if not somewhat depressing, to judge the waiting times for ILR SET (O) JR applications. It has now been 17 weeks since the receipt of my application and I have sent in two requests to expedite my application - one through the post and the other to settlementopspolicy@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

I have also emailed my MP requesting that he do something to speed up the BA processing times and requesting that he help with my application but haven't heard anything back from him.

Do you have any other advice on how to either find out more information or get them to send it more quickly? I have plans to travel for a family affair on May 24 and it would be awful to cancel.

This forum has been helpful, if not somewhat depressing, to judge the waiting times for ILR SET (O) JR applications. It has now been 17 weeks since the receipt of my application and I have sent in two requests to expedite my application - one through the post and the other to settlementopspolicy@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

I have also emailed my MP requesting that he do something to speed up the BA processing times and requesting that he help with my application but haven't heard anything back from him.

Do you have any other advice on how to either find out more information or get them to send it more quickly? I have plans to travel for a family affair on May 24 and it would be awful to cancel.

I have done the same things as you to try and expedite the processing. Additionally I called the HomeOffice but they can't even see your application till it's been more than 6 months. I also faxed them at this number (0151 2132910) given to me by the Home Office, all to no avail. I think unless you request your documents to be sent back, and thereby risk losing your application fee, there is nothing to be done but wait.

Yes they do use the prepaid envelopes, but if you look at the successful list there seems to be quite a gap between the date the ILR is stamped and when the passports are actually received. So it looks like the HomeOffice take their time posting the documents back, because the documents are definitely delivered the next day after they are posted.
