Post by plabo » Tue Mar 27, 2012 11:12 am

Hello

I have applied for Tier 2 (General) with wife (Dependant) from Karachi.

1. Submitted on 14/03/2012
2. Forwarded to Islamabad OC 14/03/2012
3. Application forwarded to embassy for processing 19/03/2012
4. Processed Application returned to AC 22/03/2012

Have not yet received the collection message. Does anyone have an idea how long will it take?

The collection msg should come in a week i.e wait until 29/03.

Just one quick question, did you submit Nadra Marriage registration certificate or only nikah nama with its translation?

My brother's wife has arrived 2 weeks ago and she has told me that english translation of nikkah nama attested by both the nottary public and union council is needed. Nadira certificate is not essential but if you have that then there is no harm in sending that I suppose.

thats what i think MRC is not necessary.
i sent original nikah nama with unioncouncil stamp and its translation (only attested by Notary). I dont think translation is needed to be attested again by union council (but if done that good).

well we both were in the UK till 10th march on a Tier 5, had to come here to apply again for a Tier 2 cuz couldn't do that from there...i have submitted nadra, english translation (w/o attestation from union council) and urdu nikahnama (it has the union council stamp)...i don't think they will be needing much to look into our nikahnama since we both were living there and came together, have our national insurance numbers, nhs etc and they just have enough prove of us living together :-)

Gerry's doesn't know anything. Its pointless to ask them regarding the status as u can always track it online. I have been to the UK on a Business visa, Tier 5 and now a Tier 2 visa and believe me, wasting 200 Rs on getting that sms facility or even calling for Rs 10/min to their helpline doesn't help a bit...they just tell u the status by checking it online too just like u can do it from home...so save ur money and avoid calling them to get the same status update which u are seeing urself from ur home

btw the last time we applied for a Tier 5, i didn't submit the translation attested by the union council, it was only attested by the notary public..all they need are 2 things:

1. Urdu nikah nama with union council stamp
2. english translation

sending the nadra nikahnama just adds to ur documentation, but without the union council stamp on the urdu nikahnama, they will reject ur application

BTW remember this that UNION COUNCIL will NOT attest ur english translation of the nikahnama!

the stamp of the UNION COUNCIL should be visible in the circle shaped stamped of the nikah registrar on ur urdu nikahnama

@ ALL
QUERY REGARDING NIKAH NAMA

Marriage Certificate must be attested/endorsed by the Union Council. It is most essential.
After taking Advice; remember Everyone's application, and thus supporting documents, will be different depending on personal circumstances.

Thanks Plabo,

Your thread is really helpful for me as my wife and daughter will apply for tier 2 dependent visa next month. Do let me know of the outcome of your application. Thanks. I want to get an idea of processing timeline from Pakistan.

Secondly my wife was living with me for the last 2.5 years as work permit dependent and my daughter is born in UK. Before I was on old work permit. I am not sure if we need to send all the documents again to show our relationship that I sent last time. It was

1) Marriage certificate (both English and Urdu)
2) Marriage photos
3) Marriage invitation cards
4) Phone bills showing communication.

Other than above was enough accommodation proof and maintenance funds.

Do I need all this again. I hope not because we were together for last 2.5 years and now she is applying to join me back as tier 2 dependent. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am still waiting for the collection message to come. Am expecting it by the end of this week, hopefully. I have applied for Tier 2 (General) and my wife (Dependant). I used my own bank statement.

I really don't think you need to send (2), (3) and (4) as you both were already living together for such a long time. Just make sure you send the Nikah nama with the Union council stamp along with the English translation, that will be enough. Will let you know of the outcome of my application Inshallah as soon as I receive the passport, its expected anytime now.

Nadra Marriage Certificate is NOT considered such a CRITICAL document by UKBA. They want two things essentially:

1. URDU Nikah nama (with Union council stamp)
2. English translation (Notary public stamp)

Adding a Nadra Marriage certificate with the Union Council stamp will only add to the above two, but if there is NO Union council stamp on the URDU Nikah nama, the application will be rejected.
