Documents (Visa ext) with UKBA and need to apply for PSW

Hi everyone,

This is in behalf of a good friend of mine.

He applied for his visa extension around the end of Jan (As his visa expired on 31st Jan,12 and he still had a bit of his course left).

Now, he still hasn't received his documents back from the UKBA (although his biometrics were done a month back)- And he'd like to apply for his PSW Visa. How's this normally done when your documents are still with the UKBA? Is there anyone he has to contact in particular? Upon contacting the UKBA, they didn't disclose if his documents had been dispatched or not.

Any advice would be helpful at this moment. Thanks in advance.

It is likely that his visa is already on its way back. However, he can vary his application and submit a fresh application for PSW, if he has been awarded a degree from his University. If he wishes to vary the application, he should make sure he has had 800 for 90 days prior to the date he made the initial (tier 4) application, as this will be taken as the new application date.
