english results good enough for settlement visa?

Post by noclue » Thu Mar 29, 2012 3:46 pm

IELTS results:

speaking 5.5
reading 4
writing 4
listening 3.5

Over all : 4

Do you know if the UKBA will accept these scores or will they say they dont meet the requirement?
thanks

I think the standard answer will be that they do not meet the requirements.

The problem is that you need to score at least 4.0 in both Speaking and Listening, other modules do not matter that much.

You may try an easier test i.e. TOEIC

I would suggest you call the local offices to get details on both TOEIC and KET tests including the length of time it will take to get the certificate.

Bearing in mind that the tests registrations would also take some time as the exam dates are usually set once or twice every month depending on popularity.
