Quickest way to get a spanish schengen visa

Post by niczaf » Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:27 am

Hi

I have booked a trip to spain for a months time knowing I need all of this to be booked before I can apply for the schengen visa. I now see that the first appointment with the Spanish visa office (VFS Global) is in a months time. The same day I have to leave. Does anyone know any quicker way to get an appointment?

I really didn't think it was possible to take so long. I have had an appointment for a french visa (3 times in a row now) for under 1 week from booking.

Thanks
Nic

That seams to be a bit of an unfair catch 22...

You have to book a trip before you get an appointment and can't get an appointment once you've booked. Email VFS and see if they can get you an earlier appointment.

Do you think I can apply with the French? I have had another company say that they can do this for me but I thought I had to apply with the country I am going to first - I plan to go to france in a few months anyways so perhaps if I plead my case they will be kind?

You can certainly try. If France is your main destination, then yes definitely you can. If there is no main destination, then it's supposed to be the country of first entry or the one where you will spend most time.

If you are genuinely going to France, then you will have a strong case to plead.

I sympathise, what a pain.

Hi,

That is generally problem in certain cases when people get so much delayed in their visa appointment.

Well in your case, you can apply through France Embassy if you wish to visit France also. (provided you truly want to go France.)

It is a compulsion to apply at the first port of your destination only when there is no main destination ie you are spending equal number of days in every country of visit. otherwise you have to apply to main destination (in the country where you are spending the maximum duration of your stay)

I suspect the chap has timed out now. This was a little while ago.
