Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here could give any advice. Currently waiting for decision/passport/biometric card from HO. My passport will run out in June and my embassy in the UK will not issue a new passport (they don't have the facilities to do so). Is there anyway to contact them to ask about this even though only 4 months has elapsed? I know from reading posts here, contact is pretty much non-existent.

Does anyone know if requesting return of documents help at all? Like most people here, I am going insane with the wait, uncertainty and the inability to plan anything in my life.

Date Applied/Docs sent: 12/12/11
Date Received Ack. Letter: 19/12/11
Date Biometrics booking letter arrived: 13/02/12
Date Biometrics Appointment Glasgow Office: 17/02/12
Date Biometrics Issued:
Date Biometric Card Received from HO:
Date Passport/Docs received from HO:

Visa Type : FLR(M) for spouse
Visa From: Fiancee

Not sure if this is useful but have you checked: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/aboutus/contact/ ? There is a section on this page called 'Request return of documents'.

Good luck.

My timeline

Post by AngieLynn09 » Tue Apr 03, 2012 2:23 pm

Just adding my timeline!

Applied FLR(M): January 20 2012
Returned as invalid (due to old form): February 22 2012
Fiance visa Expired: February 22 2012
Sent fresh (out of time) FLR(M) with cover letter: February 28 2012
Ack. letter: March 3rd, 2012
Biometrics letter: March 24th, dated March 22nd
Enrolled Biometrics: March 26th, 2012

Now I'm waiting anxiously, hoping for an approval despite being six days out of time due to a stupid mistake.

Good Luck everyone!

ICFN Check sheet

Post by jaq777 » Thu Apr 05, 2012 8:42 pm

Just hoping someone might be able to answer this. My wife received her documents back with an approval letter. It also has an ICFN Card Production Check-Sheet and wondered if this was normal. We are worried this was meant for an internal UKBA department to actually produce the Biometric Residency card.

Any help please!!

I didn't have an "ICFN Card Production Check-Sheet". It might just be a simple mistake. If they said that the biometric card will arrived within 7 working days, it should arrived within that timeline. Otherwise contact the HO.

I feel that your BRP card will be there soon. I think they will not send back the documents if the BRP is not been ordered to be manufactured. I think that "production check-sheet" is only a quality control sheet and not an "order sheet to manufacture" the BRP card.

Hi all,

I've just applied and am waiting for acknowledgement letter. Then I will write my timeline shortly after that :D

Question: Why does everyone seem so excited about the biometric letter? Does it mean that the application has been approved? Sorry I'm a bit fuzzy about this. I've done the biometric before when I applied for Tier 1, but not sure whether I should do another one for FLRM. I don't mind doing it twice, just wondering whether I would need to do another one for a different type of visa :D

Hi Gabysls,

Receiving biometric letter doesn't mean that the application has been approved. And yes, you will have to enrol your biometric information again. You need to do this every time you submit a new application.

As for the reason why people get excited about the biometric letter, you will understand later after waiting for 3 or 4 weeks not hearing anything except for the acknowledgement letter.

Having a council tax payment is not a requirement, so you should be fine.

I confirm as well.

When I applied in February I did not attach any Council Tax evidence and the application was approved. BTW this was in Delhi, so there might be different expectations in other countries.
Feb 2012 - Spouse Visa - New Delhi
Mar 2012 - Documents collected - VISA Granted
March 2014 - ILR Granted
Apr 2015 - Applied for Naturalisation
Nov 2015 - Naturalised

Congratulations, Shhh!! Finally heard someone who received their passport back. Hope your biometric card will arrive soon. May I ask when was the expiry date of your Tier 1 Visa? I just wonder if it has anything to do how fast they process applications.

I think anniecc also enrolled her biometric info on the 15th or 16th March. I wonder if she will receive her passport back soon too. I enrolled mine on the 23/3. Hopefully my passport and biometrics card will be on the way to me soon. Fingers crossed.
Hiya --

My Tier 1 expired on 2/2/12. Hope that helps! Fingers crossed indeed.

I'm a bit worried for the fact that I applied for my visa on the 18/01 and did the biometrics on the 28/02 and I'm still waiting for mine. Hope it comes soon...

Do they deliver your passport or documents via Royal Mail signed for delivery? Thanks

Dont mean to sound thick but can you tell me please what you mean by passport and documents, is documents all things you have sent previous or documents stating your stay or otherwise.. as our solicitor has informed us all our things we have sent previously over a 2 year period has been returned by the home office with a letter of acknowledgement that our property enclosed "cards, photos etc".
if they have made decision will they let us know seperately thats why asked if documents and passport meant things from prior and passport or decision document with passport? many thanks :)

Our timeline for FLR(M) from a fiance visa to spouse visa

Date Docs sent: 26/01/12
Date Ack. Letter received: 01/02/12
Date bio-metrics booking letter received: 5/03/12
Date bio-metrics enrolled (at Oxford post office): 6/03/12
Date BRP received: still waiting
Date passport/docs received: still waiting

Visa applied for: FLR(M)
Switching from: Fiance Visa

From Anniecc's timeline, it looks like the Biometric enrolmemt to Passport receipt period was just over 4 weeks (15/3 to 13/4). A few other sources have also reported this as a average figure.

We are getting very worried now as it has been SIX weeks since Biometric Enrolment and we really need the Passport for travel.

UKBA insist that they will not give any information on the status of the visa until SIX months after the application, not even to say it has already been sent as we're worried that it's maybe lost in the post. ! All they will do is let you withdraw your application but then you have no VISA so not very useful.

And so we wait ...

Thanks for reading ...
