HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

My partner appliea foR Discretionary leave to remain under article 8. HO sent acknowlegment letter within a week and is now 10 weeks and we haven't heard anything from them. how long does it take? again it it always a positive decision or what? please help.

Even if you had given a full account of the circumstances relating this application (which you have not) it would not be possible to predict the outcome of the process or the time taken to reach that decision. Every case is unique and made on a discretionary basis outside the normal scope of the immigration rules, and there are not average times
