How to find opportunities in the Middle East ???

Hi, I've been trying to dig up information as to how to go about finding probable job prospects in the Middle East (mainly in the UAE, Oman, Saudia Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain) but to no avail. There are quite a few websites, but apparently haven't been able to come across one that is directly related to my field of work (i.e. Telecommunication/Cellular or research related roles in this specific area)

I am reasonably sure that there are quite a few people, with a similar background to mine, who've managed to relocate to the Middle East. I would apprecaite any help/information to help me steer my search in the right direction.

I think (and could very well be wrong on this one) that there must be recruiters/head hunters within the UK, who specialise in filling in vacancies for their overseas clients. Will equally appreciate all the help in this regard as well.

I am afraid I dont know much about getting jobs in the Middle East. I spend a part of my childhood there but never worked there myself. While you will be able to find jobs in telecommunications, I dont remember ever seeing job adverts for telecom research facilities based in the Middle East. Things may have changed because its been a while since I last went there.

The traditional non IT route to jobs in the Middle East is when jobs are advertised in newspapers. I know a couple of such newspapers in India, but none in Pakistan or UK.

I did quick google search for telecom jobs in the middle east and I came up with the following.

1. A "How to get a job in the Gulf FAQ" kind of document (interesting!?!)

Leading recruitment agencies in UAE include Clarendon Parker, Mosaic, BAC-ME and SOS Recruitment. Most of them operate their own web sites, where you will find jobs in the Gulf and Middle East jobs as well.

No not any luck so far. I've been sending off my CVs for the last couple of months, but without any luck. I wish there were specialist recruiters/head hunters here in the UK for the Middle Eastern market !

some time back a friend of mine had tried to find a job in the middle east, he got nothing either

he has a PhD, blue chip experience, etc...


perhaps you need to have connections in the middle east market


i remember looking in this carrer book when i was looking for a job, and i am sure i saw a bunch of agents who focussed on the middle east.

in case i come across any leads i will definitely let you know
