New HSMP Format is Helpful or not???

Post by AkashS » Sat Nov 11, 2006 5:57 pm

Hi Friends,

I believe that new HSMP Format is helpful for us in several ways:

Previously: Either you get 5 Pts for Age under 28 or 0.
Now: You get Pts for age from 27 to 31

Previously: only 25 Pts for your Post Graduate Degree
Now: 35 Pts + 5 extra Pts for Degree from UK (good for people like me)

Previously: U28 Earning: No Pts for less than GBP 5000/ Year earning and for over 28, Pts for earning more than GBP 7500
Now: You can get Pts even for GBP 3000 earning (5 Pts)

Previously: So many problem in getting experience letter in desired HSMP Format.
So many problem in proving your experience and company valid
Now: No Problem at all :)

Now, what do you think my friends.. Isn't it easy to get HSMP now..

One more doubt is there in my mind, I believe that if HO has received your application before 7th Nov, and also has given you Ref No., in that case, previous HSMP Format should only apply... is there any information regarding this..

Cheers,

Akash...

Why is it easier

Post by abisurd » Sun Nov 12, 2006 6:49 am

In my case, I was finding it really difficult to get the required experience letters from my current and ex employers. I don't have to go through that trouble any more.

Yes, especially if you were claiming for >4 years, getting letters from old or even non-existent employers would have been impossible.

Akash...

What about English Language Ability testing is it mandatory one ?

You need to have a bachelors degree that was taught in English (not a Masters degree or PhD).
or
You need to possess an International English Language Testing System qualification at least at Band 6 less than two years old.

Thanks in Advance

Post by lella » Wed Nov 15, 2006 1:39 pm

In my Degree certificate its clearly stating the medium is english. Is this enough or do i need any separate letter from the Faculty.

Cheers,
Suresh

Ok guys,
Here is my situation - Got my HSMP approval on August 4th (in-country aplication in the UK)

I was on a Masters student in the UK. I have finished my Masters now. I went to mumbai to apply for entry clearance. i got it and i am back in the UK with a HSMP visa stamped for 2 years - till 2008.

With the new rules...how does this affect me when i go for an extension in 2 years time....

Is my Masters in the UK enuf to show that it was in english? as in can i claim extra points for that (UK study). i guess its understood that a Masters in UK is taught in english.

As part of my course i had to do a one year placement with a company(UK govt venture)..i guess that can give extra points.(previous UK work)

Income - i have approached a company about job (i currently contract with them)..Do you think its a good idea to go permanent so that i will have proper regular income so that i fit into the income band to qualify for extension. The job offers a salary in the range of 29 - 39,000 £..i cud be anywhere in between....

Please advice...
Regards,
Rohan...

Hi

Any one study in the UK then no issue.

But only the confusion is if any one did their studies outside UK (for example India )

That case how we will proof the English Language Ability ?

Do we need any letter form university? and what is the format ?

Thanks,

Are you serious? This is spelt out precisely in the guidance notes. I suggest you start by reading them.

Why not easy to get extension...
I believe this statement was directed to people who are outside of the UK applying on the HSMP for the first time. In these cases, it will be hard to get an extension after 12 months, as UK employers are initially hesitant to employ someone with neither UK experience nor a UK education.
