claiming maternity benefits on an eea residence card

Hello Forum

My wife recently moved to the uk on an eea family permit. She is now waiting to receive her residence card.

We plan to try and start a family in the next few years. Assuming she works for a period of time first would she be entitled to any state maternity pay? In her line of work she typically would work on short term contracts so would not get any benefits that a permanently employed person would get.

Any help would be appreciated.
