Work Permit:How long to wait?

Hi all,
I am a Malaysian and I have a job offer from an employer based in Aberdeen,Scotland.
It has been nearly 4 weeks since my HR sent the WP application and I still haven't heard anything. She told me previously that it would only take 2-3 weeks but now it seems to take forever to get it.

May I know how long (max) will it take for me to get the WP?

Has your employer been succesful previously in applying for a WP? - Is it a Tier 1 or 2 occupation?

Hi Chess,
She said she never failed before.I think it is tier 1 for business and commercial.

Any idea why it is taking so long?I am freaking out as maybe the WP may not be approved at all.

Please advice.

Thanks Chess but how soon?My patience is running low day by day as I have been jobless since I got my job offer from UK because I have resigned from my prev employer when the offer came through.

I am hoping to move to UK very soon,but that soon seems to take forever. :cry:
