Got my COA after a long wait of 44 days. Now lets see how long they take to provide me residence card.

Will also have to request passports back soon as we're going away in June. Will need to apply for a visa too if the passport comes back without RC.

Will you be travelling with ur spouse? I am in the impression that i wont need a visa to go to turkey since i am travelling with my OH. But will have to confirm this before leaving

As far as I know you'll be fine travelling to turkey without applying for a visa. As long as you have a valid visa for the UK they will issue you the turkish visa on entry. I'll be travelling together with my spouse but we're going to Greece. They do require me to get a schengen visa if I don't have the RC.

Hi aluter, can i ask you where you from as you are flying to Turkey and it's not a part of schengen, you will require a visa before you fly, unless only your country dont need visa to Turkey.
Doesn't matter whether you go with your EU spouse or not.

I am from Nigeria. I have a valid visa for the uk that expire end of 2013. But i sent it off with my application for eea2.

Hmm if i need a visa i will have to collect my passport sooner than i thought so i can apply for the visa. hmmmm if have to look into this closer to the time.

Thanks for the advice

One of my friends sent EEA3 & EEA4 applications on 27 March 2012, and got his COA today. (30 April 2012)

He mentioned that it was clearly stated that he shouldn't contact HO about the process unless there is an emergency. Hopefully not a 6 months wait.

Hello Guys,
just to let u know that ive RECEIVED my RC. Called the HO this morning just to check what is happening with my application. The lady i spoke with was nice ( never believed that people like that work in the HO), she confirmed that the HO sent my solicitor a PACKAGE on the 9th of may. so when i called my solicitor this afternoon to confirm if he has actually received anything from the HO, behold he confirmed that in fact, they have approved my application that i should come and pick up my passport tomorrow.

Timeline
Application submitted: 22/03/2012
HO received : 24/03/2012
COA: NONE
RC received by solicitor: 09/05/2012.
