Working out my date of appointment for ILR

Post by irfanb00 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 10:36 am

I am in the process of applying for ILR in July through premium appointment @ PEO.

Can someone please help me work out from which date I can start to book an appointment?

1. I was granted 5 years Work permit (in country application) on 3rd August 2007.
2. I then applied for 3 years Tier 1 General on 15th August 2009 which expires on 15th August 2012 (as I wanted to change jobs).

As I understand, I can apply for ILR within 28days of my visa expiry (i.e. after 4 years 11 months 3 days) I have therefore calculated that I can start to book an appointment from 15th July 2012 onwards.

Is that correct?

Thanks

You can apply 28 days before August 3. I can't be bothered to work out if that equates to your suggestion of July 15 (although it probably does not!).

irfanb00: Your 5 years complete on Friday, 3 August 2012 and you can apply 28 days before this date which would be Friday, 6 July 2012.

The appointments become available 42 days (6 weeks) in advance and to book a slot for 6th July 2012, you need to do it on Friday, 25 May 2012 (at midnight when the date changes from 24th to 25th April).

Apologies for the confusion. I got my dates the wrong way round....

1. I was granted 5 years Work permit (in country application) on 15th August 2007.
2. I then applied for 3 years Tier 1 General on 3rd August 2009 which expires on 3rd August 2012 (as I wanted to change jobs).

Now can you tell me if I am right to assume that I can start to book my appointment from 15th July or later?

Thanks & apology again.

No problem, according to your new dates, your 5 years complete on Friday, 15 August 2012 and you can apply 28 days before this date which would be Wednesday, 18 July 2012. (You can’t apply before 18th July).

To book a PEO appointment for 18th July 2012, you need to do it on Wednesday, 6 June 2012 (at midnight when the date changes from 5th to 6th June 2012).
