cutepearl wrote:By the way I just want to add.
I got married February 2008. And before that was on Student visa with my partner so HO has counted the year spend as a Student with my wife in the 5 year eligibility time.
Anyone else in the same situation should apply I suppose to save an extra year waiting for PR.
I provided statement from bank but I was missing the first 4 months of the 5 year timeline so a friends statement did the job. I think only 3 statements before marriage. That was it.reda wrote:
hi cutebearl,is really good news for everybody in this forum,i gess all of us had life with their wife before marriage.
could you give us which documents and how many you supply for HO as prof of cohabitation before day of your wedding.
spike_UK wrote:cutepearl, your news are really useful because people been talking about this a lot(as they had different opinions), can you give more information,,,,, like did they ask you for more information,,,have been together in total 5 years or longer? or explanation or was did they just issued you the PR with out any hassle?
That means you can do the same for BC (6 yrs been living together,,you dont have to wait for PR 1 yr). well done mate.
Many thanks mate.
What do you mean same for BC? I think I have everything for BC.spike_UK wrote:thank you cutepearl for the information,, so I guess in your word,,you didnt even have prove for 5 yrs( 4months short) but you still managed to get PR,,well done mate.
So are you going to do the same for BC? I think you should.
I would wait for 12 months past the PR sticker date for two reasons:spike_UK wrote:Hi cutepearl, I meant you don't have to wait 12 month period of PR,,,you can apply for BC based on 6 yrs relation and demonstrate same evidence that you used for PR.

1. The fact that the your time before marriage was recognised by the European Cases team for the PR application, doesn't mean that the nationality team will have the same view when applying for BC. For a £850 application, I'm not sure it is worth the risk (although small).
2. Better to make the application simple and straightforward. You don't want the HO taking more time to get to a decision because they need first to establish your PR based on the evidence you provide.
PR applications take 2-3 months so if you apply close to the 5 years end, you wont delay your naturalisation application by much if apply 12 months after PR.

Cutepearl, congratulations on your PR,
What number did you call, as I have tried various times and have been unable to reach them?
I have to travel for work as well and not sure what to do, i applied 10 days after you have applied.
Thnx a lot
Should not affect the application as it is dealt by a different department.spike_UK wrote:Hi guys, i just want to ask something,,,, because I didnt get my COA on time I called HO and they printed me another one! so now I have received both one of them is dated 15/03/2012 and the other one 10/04/2012
Does this have an effect on the delay of my EEA4 process?
Thanks.
Could be the next day or 5 months later. No idea. In any case, it doesn't matter when it is allocated to a CW but when he actually looks at it and that depends on their workload.spike_UK wrote:Thanks Jambo, do you have any idea how long after COA been issued the application would be assigned to a case worker?
Well working the way backwards - 3 weeks visa + 10 days for the HO to return the passport (did you provide a special delivery envelope with the application? That might speeds this up) + 2 weeks buffer just in case something goes wrong = beginning of May. I would not wait longer than that.spike_UK wrote:Jambo,,,good idea mate but im wondering about when to ask for our passports back as we have a holiday on 27/06/2012 to Tunisia and I have to apply for visa to Tunisia which it take about 3 weeks at least so when should I request our passports back!!!
Thanks for responds mate.
