Work Permit:How long to wait?

Hi all,
I am a Malaysian and I have a job offer for an employer based in Aberdeen,Scotland.
It has been nearly 4 weeks since my HR sent the WP application and I still haven't heard anything.

May I know how long (max) will it take for me to get the WP?

I have no idea, but i would advise calling your prospective employeer, maybe they can fax you the papers. Something sounds wrong to me, you probably should have gotten it by now.

Have you stated that you will need a WP to work for them when you applied for this position? Otherwise talk to them straight away to see what's going on.
