Family visitor visa for parents

My friend is applying for a family visitor visa for his parents, he is currenlty on ILR and he want his parents as his wife is expecting a baby. he works full time and he has submitted his payslips with bank statements and his tenancy agreement and Council Tax letter.

He wanted to know that as his father is retired and mother is a house wife do they need to submit any of their documents?

My friend is taking responsibility of all expenses.

Obviously there are certain documents that the applicant has to provide (not everything comes from the sponsor). Both mandatory and suggested documents can be found on the application form and in the guidance.
