Birth Certificate Enquiry for ILR using FLR(0) Form

We are applying for ILR using the FLR(0) Form.

The father is applying as a foreign national and the mother is a British Citizen, as is their child. When using accompanying documents, the mother is going to write a letter in favour of the father staying in the UK as it being in the best interests of their child.

Does the father's name have to be on the Birth Certificate? Or will the mother's letter be enough?
