HSMP Inital approval

Post by ecker » Thu Nov 23, 2006 10:59 pm

Hi there,
Just wondering if the inital approval for the HSMP is for 1 year or 2. There seems to be some contradicting posts around about this?

Cheers

Excellent, 2 years is a good length of time for inital approval. It Realy needs to be that long tho if trying to settle into a job and earn enough for FLR

It depends where you apply from and the documentation you provide to support your EC application.

It seems that if you apply for FLR (within UK) you get a 2 yr. visa, but if you apply from any BHC overseas (out-country applicant), it depends on the evidence you provide to support your application. And it is at ECO's discretion whether to grant a 1yr. or 2 yr. visa.

Thanks for that reply, very helpfull
Its seems it is based on individual circumstance but generally a 2 year inital visa is given unless the Entry Clearance office feels supporting yourself my be a problem, inwhich case 1 year may be given

I live in the UK under steady employment so shouldn't be a problem there, 2 years should be the outcome if i choose to apply
