You haven't said why your wife doesn't want to register, surely its an easy process.kingcedz wrote:When my wife received her naturalisation certificate she was given a "New British Citizen Voter Registration" form to be registered on the Electoral Registry.
Is it compulsory? will there be any negative consequences for not register on Electoral Registry, other than unable to vote?
I was wondering the same thing. As above, enrolment is compulsory for those who are eligible to enrol but voting is not.PG1983 wrote:kingcedz wrote:You haven't said why your wife doesn't want to register, surely its an easy process.
Not sure why it's a negative consequence; in fact, I'd consider it a positive one, since not being registered on the electoral roll can lower your credit score.friendinneed wrote:The other negative consequences is that electoral roll info appears on your credit reference agency file which will impact your credit score. May not be a major consideration but in addition to loans/ credit cards etc your credit score is increasingly being used to price insurance, in employee referencing etc
