software jobs - ground reality in UK

Post by aspihsmp » Thu Nov 30, 2006 5:37 am

Hi,

I'm an HSMP aspirant and has all the eligibilities for it.

Recently I spoke to a guy in UK;he says software industry is not promising in UK and is no longer considered in shortage of skills list.

I thought this could just be his perception and his experience.

What is the ground realities?

A bit about me, I'm an embedded software programmer with 5+ years of experience and located in India.

Thanks in advance,
Praki Jose

your statement is partially true. UK is basically a financial hub and guys with different skillsets related to finance are hot cakes and vice versa. Unlike US, UK is not a IT oriented country.
