It can be, depends on where it is, in Pakistan use a noteable officer or Notary to stamp it, your relatives in Pakistan should know where the Notary Officer's building is.

If you're doing it here, then yes an Urdu speaking lawyer will need to attest it.

As for registered with the Union Council, as with BluMango, I will re-itterate. You need it registered on their computer database. So make sure you have it registered with the Union Council and that they put it on the computer database. Someone must go to them and tell them to do it, otherwise they sometimes don't.

So documents you need in terms of the Nikah.

1. Original Urdu Nikah Nama - With Union Council Seal/Stamp on it.
2. Translation of the Nikah Nama - Attested by an urdu and english speaking lawyer/notary/officer.
3. NADRA Marriage Certificate - Union Council give this when it's on the database, if it's not on the database you won't get it.

And what questions are you talking about? We answer them, only someone just asked about the nikkah nama being attested, if you didnt get there first someone else would have definetly answered the question.

all my documents from my end I prepared myself widout the help of a solicitor!! and from my husband's end i told him what to do!

In terms of getting comment your docs, as stated you need the 3. They are in the previous comment I posted.

As I said the biggest issue isn't getting the translation, it's making sure your union council stamp is on the original urdu nikah nama and that it's been registered on the computer databse.

Yes you'll need a Pakistani lawyer or someone or noteable standing who can read/write Urdu, they will need to stamp. All you need is the attestation of the translation. It's £10 usually for a solicitor to stamp. Most people do their translation while they are in Pakistan and submit whilst there.

You may have it registered with the Union Council, but is it registered on their computer database? It must be registered on the computer database, this is an absolute must. Make sure it is registered with the Union Council AND on the computer. They will give you a certificate, you need that certificate.

Learn from my mistake so you don't have to appeal either.

Innit, subhan'Allah, the way Allah ta'aala settles the affairs off the unbelievers. May Allah guide him.

It is so much peaceful here without him when he doesnt post such comments, at the end off the day he will be accountable for what he said and did when questioned by Allah taa'aala.

Chalo, lets not let him ruin the harmony, happiness and warmth we have amongst us all here, we all get along, we have NO problems when its comes to praising Allah.
