king2be98 wrote:It can be, depends on where it is, in Pakistan use a noteable officer or Notary to stamp it, your relatives in Pakistan should know where the Notary Officer's building is.som1984 wrote: King, when you say attested can this be done by a lawyer.
i got married on the 15/4/12, my father in law got the nikkah name translated into english and registered with the union council. i heard before that you need to have the name and address written on the back of the translation of the person who translated it. are you saying now that i need to get someone like a lawyer from pakistan to attest it?
If you're doing it here, then yes an Urdu speaking lawyer will need to attest it.
As for registered with the Union Council, as with BluMango, I will re-itterate. You need it registered on their computer database. So make sure you have it registered with the Union Council and that they put it on the computer database. Someone must go to them and tell them to do it, otherwise they sometimes don't.
So documents you need in terms of the Nikah.
1. Original Urdu Nikah Nama - With Union Council Seal/Stamp on it.
2. Translation of the Nikah Nama - Attested by an urdu and english speaking lawyer/notary/officer.
3. NADRA Marriage Certificate - Union Council give this when it's on the database, if it's not on the database you won't get it.
Good luck.
PS. This thread is still a joke really, every single page is now full of Insha'Allahs, there's so little actual help for those asking questions.

Oh My God, do goray come on this particulat thread? The Pakistan thread? If pakistani's come and are looking for immigration advice then I am sure as Muslims they wont mind us saying insh'allah etc.. in every post.king2be98 wrote:There's nothing wrong in taking Allah's name, I'm not saying you shouldn't.
But this is an immigration forum. People come on here to get advice, there are two members who asked about the Nikah Nama process but their posts have been lost in amongst all the posts which aren't really immigration related or giving useful info.
As I said before, people don't come on here for Duas, well some might, but most are here for immigration advice.

thanks King for the great advice.king2be98 wrote:Yes you'll need a Pakistani lawyer or someone or noteable standing who can read/write Urdu, they will need to stamp. All you need is the attestation of the translation. It's £10 usually for a solicitor to stamp. Most people do their translation while they are in Pakistan and submit whilst there.blumango wrote:king,
im here in england with the nikka from pakistan. where do i get it translated here in england?
i was hoping to hear from people on who they chose to translate their nikkas.
p.s its registered with union vut cannot see any stamps just signature with serial no
You may have it registered with the Union Council, but is it registered on their computer database? It must be registered on the computer database, this is an absolute must. Make sure it is registered with the Union Council AND on the computer. They will give you a certificate, you need that certificate.
Learn from my mistake so you don't have to appeal either.
Innit, subhan'Allah, the way Allah ta'aala settles the affairs off the unbelievers. May Allah guide him.*Y3NVY* wrote:sis i dont think anyone will/would have a problem...*Nazia wrote:@ ALL the members on here
