Switching from Tier2 ICT to Tier 1 Dependent

Post by sweety12 » Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:19 pm

Dear All,

I am currently working on Tier 2 ICT visa. I want to switch to Tier 1 dependent. Is it possible legally to work with same employer after converting to Tier 1 dependent visa. Is there any change to Income tax slabs?How long will it take to get Tier 1 dependent visa from my home country?

Thanks all for your help,
Sweety.

Hi Sweety12

Once you obtain your PBS Dependant visa there is no restriction on work (apart from doctors/dentists in training), i.e. you can also work for the employer you have been working for as a Tier 2 ICT migrant.

Not sure what your question is regarding income tax but HMRC is not particularly intrerested in your immigration status and will tax you according to the rules in force.

You can get some idea how long it takes to get the dependant visa from your home country if you look at at the UK embassy or high commission website they have there.

Is it possible to switch from Tier 2 (ICT) to Tier 1 dependent being within UK ? Or do I have to travel back to get the dependent visa done ? Any idea ?

Is there any change to Income tax slabs? slabs? HMRC is not interested in your immigration status

How long will it take to get Tier 1 dependent visa from my home country? you need to check the processing times on the British Embassy or High Commission site in your home country.

see the PBS Dependant policy guidance:

‘Switching’ or moving into the route for Family Members tier 1, 2 and 5
migrants

29. For family members of Tier 1, 2, and 5 applicants, switching is permitted when applying as: a family member who has or last had entry clearance or leave to remain as the partner or child of a person who had leave under another category and who has since been granted, or is, at the
same time, being granted leave to remain as a relevant Points Based System migrant;
