Student graduating in July 2012 with a dipolma

Just looking for some advice -

what options would a student who graduates with a dipolma in July 2012 have if she wanted to remain in the UK.

The college she is studying at does not have a Royal Charter so the PSW route is not open to her.

Psw is closed so it is not open to anyone.

without knowing anything about her other than that she is about to get a diploma it is rather difficult to comment. Would suggest she looks at the ukba website at the various categories to see if she would qualify for any of them. Note with only a diploma she would not be able to switch to tier 2 from within the UK. Whether she can work depends on whether her visa says she can or not.

If her course finishes in June why does she have a visa until march 2013?

sorry got the dates wrong, so I have amended.
I looked at the website and it would appear her only option is to find a job which pays atleast £20,000 at get a Tier 2 General. She already has a BA from her home country.

She may have a BA from her home country but she still can't switch from tier 4 to tier 2 from within the UK because this is only permitted for tier 4 migrants who have been awarded a UK degree or who have completed one year of a phd.

Do take the time to actually read further down the page where it confirms that you can only switch from tier 4 if you have been awarded a UK degree or pgce.

If you are not in any of these categories, you must leave the UK and make your Tier 2(General) application from abroad. If you are switching from Tier 4 or the former categories of student, student nurse, student re-sitting an examination or student union sabbatical officer, you must have current permission to stay in the UK and, during that permission to stay, you must have lawfully obtained a UK degree, postgraduate certificate n education or professional graduate diploma of education. You must have obtained one of the named qualifications. They do not include for example, vocational qualifications at degree evel which are not degrees If you are a PhD student, you do not need to have completed your course, but you must have completed at least 12 months' study towards it in the UK
